Gabby Byrd
Voice

Gabby Byrd is a highly dynamic vocalist and musician who is equally at ease performing for large crowds as she is for intimate gatherings. She has been captivating audiences her entire life, attending Houston’s Grammy Award-winning High School for the Performing & Visual Arts (HSPVA) as a youth and going on to study at the renowned University of North Texas (UNT) jazz school.

In 2013, Gabby earned the position of lead soprano in the prestigious UNT Jazz Singers ensemble and continued to sing with the group until acquiring her Bachelor of Music degree in 2015. Since then, she’s been performing in various jazz groups, Brazilian ensembles, and party bands both locally and beyond at countless weddings, corporate parties, family festivals, and other special events. Her latest project, Gabby and the Byrds, has also been enjoying consistent work in the Dallas area, further establishing her presence in the music scene.

In her earlier years, most of Gabby's formal training lay in the realm of classical music, where she was able to develop the clear and rich upper register for which she is known. As a young girl, she found her personal sound by singing along with her favorite albums, internalizing the R&B, jazz, hip hop, gospel, funk, and electronic music she loved, and fusing them into her own truly unique style. From first note to final cadence, her versatility, vulnerable honesty, and musicality leave a lasting impression in the minds of the listeners, enabling her to forge connection with any audience.

Gabby currently serves as a Voice faculty member at Prime Music Institute.
